Delete your Akarat account

1. Delete in the app

• Open the Profile tab.
• Choose Account settings.
• Choose Delete account permanently.
• Review the consequences, type “DELETE”, and confirm.

This is the fastest route. You do not need to contact support if you can sign in to the app.

2. Request deletion outside the app

If you uninstalled the app or lost access to it, email support@akarat.app from the email registered to the account with the subject “Akarat account deletion request”.

State that you want the account permanently deleted. We may send an email verification code or ask for limited information to confirm ownership. We will not ask for a password or payment details.

3. What is deleted

• The account record, email, display name, optional contact number, and account preferences.
• All sessions and their tokens, favourites, and incomplete uploads.
• Your listings, photos, videos, and associated contact information.
• Conversations you started as a buyer, plus local recent searches and the local draft when deletion is completed in the app.

4. What may remain in a limited form

Another user may retain a conversation attached to a listing you owned so their history can show that the listing is no longer available. The owner identity and contact details are removed from the listing, and no new messages can be sent.

Backups and security logs may retain a limited copy until their normal rotation or where the law requires retention. We do not use those copies to reactivate the account.

5. After deletion

The account and its listings cannot be restored after deletion is complete. The email becomes available to create a new, separate account.

For an email request, we will tell you when it is complete or if one more verification step is needed.
